Twitter asks “What’s happening?”
November 23rd, 2009Twitter is a big deal, as many web hosting users will know. They may want to take some tips from the micro-blogging service, especially now that it has changed its update message.
Twitter co-founder Biz Stone recently wrote on the Twitter blog that organisations and individuals had appeared to ignore the original message of "What are you doing?", which has now been changed to "What’s happening?".
He explained that people had actually been posting messages that were answering the latter question rather than the former.
Talking about the use of the internet in general, Mr Stone commented: "From my perspective, more people are communicating, and this is what I’ve noticed over the last ten years."
He gave the example of someone tweeting about being at a cafe, and then another user receiving the tweet and joining them for a stimulating talk.
According to a recent InSites Consulting poll, the average Twitter user is male and in their late 20s or early 30s.
