Joomla! announces event for third-party developers
November 20th, 2009A Joomla! event for third-party developers is set to take place in New York City on December 5th and 6th, and perhaps web hosting users will make their way to the meet.
The four development coordinators of Joomla! 1.6 will feature at the event, including Louis Landry, Sam Moffatt, Ian MacLennan and Mark Dexter. Master Joomla! developer Andrew Eddie will also be there, as will Hannes Papenberg from the 1.6 release team and MooTools team member Aaron Newton.
Rochen Performance Hosting, Joomla! Showroom and the Joomla! User Group New York are the sponsors, with tickets costing $100 (£60).
At the current time, Joomla! 1.6 is at alpha 2 status, so now extension and custom developers will be starting work on its new features such as Access Control Lists and JForm.
The organisation has also recently announced major multi-day conferences that could start as early as November 2010. Again, web hosting users interested may want to make their way over to learn more about the service.
