Joomla 1.5.14 launch announced

The Joomla Project has announced the immediate availability of Joomla 1.5.14, which may excite those firms taking advantage of shared web hosting.

It contains fixes for two material bugs that were introduced in version 1.5.13 and the news comes just eight days after the Joomla 1.5.13 release.

Joomla 1.5.14 also features one low level security issue and the release has been made available immediately meaning that web hosting users will not have to wait through the normal six to eight-week release cycle.

Last month, the Joomla Project was celebrating its ten millionth download having grown rapidly since the first release in 2005.

The original release was downloaded just over 72,000 times from JoomlaCode and the firm noted that Joomla 1.6 is close to release, saying that it was excited about what the future holds.

It revealed that development was ongoing for the next generation content management system that will hopefully help the company achieve another ten million downloads.
