Another Unix web hosting award for Just Host
Just Host is definitely on a roll, we have just been awarded another Unix Hosting Provider award from Web Host Directory for September 2008! This is our third Unix web hosting award in 2 months and we are rather chuffed with it. We are really happy to be recognized in such a competitive area and we would like to say thank you to Web Host Directory for giving us this award for the second month in a row.
I must admit when I entered the hosting industry I had no clue what Unix hosting was so I feel the need to ask and answer the question - What is Unix hosting?
Unix is the most commonly used hosting platform for web hosts due to the fact that it has no license fees attached to it and it is the cheapest of all the platforms available. It is a multi-user, multitasking, open source operating system, so anyone who wants to look at the code and change it is free to do so. This was the main aim behind Unix, when it became the first open source operating system that could be improved or enhanced by anyone.
